He received in-depth training in theory and practice in the visual arts, which set a foundation in design. According to Louie, his experience includes "any room in the house." During the course of his career, he has produced a wide range of designs, including libraries, mud rooms and kitchens, from contemporary to traditional styles. He enjoys listening to the client's specific working space needs and designing the specifics to fit those needs, such as cooking hearths, hutches and islands. This knowledgeable designer says he loves "the challenge of scaling these components to a room and designing them so they relate well to one another."
